Hunting Party Transport

At Stewart Island Helicopters we have a long reputation for hunter transport to and from the hunting blocks on Stewart Island. We service both Rakiura Maori Land Trust Blocks and Department of Conservation hunting blocks.

We keep in contact with the Canterbury Field Radio Service for communications with the camps/huts as well as Maureen Jones at ZLRZ marine shore station at Stewart Island. We can provide information on all hunting blocks on Stewart Island and ensure you are well equipped for your hunt. We have capacity for various loads and our fleet are equip with heli-pods for extra cargo. Our cargo pods have a hydro-static release life-raft system built into them for extra safety whilst crossing Foveaux Strait.

If you are arriving into Invercargill Airport, we can arrange for the equipment and stores for your hunt to be transported directly to the heliport; saving you hassle and time. We can also assist with your transport from the airport and even arrange for your heli-hunting trip to start directly from Invercargill!

Hunting Safaris

SIH can provide you with a professional locally experienced hunting guide and take you on a safari to a block of choice at Stewart Island. Included in this package would include rifle, ammunition, hunting guide and safety equipment. We are also able to transport you to some reputable fishing locations around Stewart Island for the famous Blue Cod and Trumpiter. We can also fly you to meet charter vessels at Port Pegasus and Port Adventure for over night stays and fishing day trips.
