Situated in Bluff (only 20 mins drive from Invercargill) we are in a central position for aerial work all over Southland and Stewart Island.

Enjoy the 1,746 square kilometres of breath taking scenery and tranquillity that Stewart Island’s remote beaches, forests and birdlife have to offer. The Natural forest of Stewart Island extends to the South some 75 km. Enjoy the many excursion options during your stay on the island such as cruises, fishing charters, underwater experiences, bus tours, cafes, restaurants and hiking.

Stewart Island is famous for its extensive tracks popular to overseas and local trampers alike. The lush dense bush, rugged mountains and golden beaches of the North-West circuit track provide amazing views and interesting terrain for trampers of all levels. Doc Huts are available for overnight stays putting you in the best locations for spotting Kiwi in their natural environment. Operating under a CAA Air Transport Certificate, safety is the number one priority at Stewart Island Helicopters. Our Fleet of Eurocopter AS350 and Robinson R44 helicopters are maintained to the highest level. Our qualified, knowledgeable and friendly team are experienced on local and international operations, with a diverse range of backgrounds we endeavour to meet your every request. SIH has a strong involvement with the local community including being on standby 24/7 for Coastguard Search and Rescue. Several of the staff here at SIH are Rakiura Maori, with access rights to the local land. A deep knowledge of the surrounding area and history gives us the local touch.
